“Decorate your home. It gives the illusion that your life is more interesting than it really is.” ~ Charles M. Schulz

Since Ray is getting home from his mission in November, my parents have been trying to finish all the things around the house that they had been planning to do since moving in (6 years ago) so that he’ll be coming home to something a little different.

Primarily, this consists of my dad working on the landscaping. However, while I was home we did a few not-totally-necessary projects as well. One of these was redecorating Ray’s room (unfortunately I didn’t get any before-and-after pictures) and the other was painting the garage stairs.

In case you can’t tell, the look we were going for was book spines. It’s much harder to paint letters than you would think! I tried to put the books in chronological order of when I read them or reading level (sometimes those are different), but a few ended up in their spots based on the color of paint I wanted to use. =)

Journey to the West (西遊記) is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature.

You should see if you can get someone to help out your dad. He seems a little overwhelmed. Its a big yard.

Love the book idea! Darling.

Also love your Dad's first comment. haha, its quite true...he does it all by himself. But I think we were pretty good at fetching him water when he needed it right?
