"No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth." ~Robert Southey

In an attempt to keep my blog a little more current, it’s time for me to catch up on what has been going on.
At the beginning of May, 3 of my friends from high school came to visit. In high school, the 4 of us were basically inseparable. It helped that it was a small school (see painting of it above) so there were only one or two classes a day that we were not all together, and it was a kind of small town so we also all happened to work at the same place when we weren’t at school. Unfortunately, even though the 4 of us have all seen each other occasionally after high school, we had not ALL been together since graduation day.
It was a pretty quick trip, but we had a lot of fun. None of them had ever been to Houston before (or even Texas), so we just had a little touristy weekend. We started out our first morning at my favorite brunch place, Baba Yega’s.

Truthfully, at this point I can’t even remember everything we did (it was at the beginning of May!), but the highlight of the weekend was Cassi seeing her first beach. Apparently she had never been to the beach before or even seen an ocean so she was really excited about it. Having been to the beach in Houston before, I was a little less so (actually, I just felt incredibly terrible for her that this was going to be what she thinks a beach is like). But, we drove down to Galveston, and here is Cassi putting her feet in the ocean for the first time!

The trip ended with a visit to one of my favorite Houston restaurants, The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation. Not to be confused with other Ninfa’s you might see around Houston (which are not good at all).
It was a pretty fun weekend! Here we are in 9th grade vs. now. What do you think? Do we look any different? I actually kind of think that I’m the only one who looks any different, but maybe we were all thinking that about ourselves. Haha.
