“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” ~ Terry Pratchett

I'm only about one month behind on my blogging! Considering all that has happened in the past month, I am feeling pretty good about that!

In October, I went to Utah to visit for a couple of days. We had been planning to take family pictures ever since Ray got home from his mission, so now, 2 years later, we finally scheduled it!

My super short trip started with just a few hours spent in Saint George to catch up with all my friends at Honolulu Grill! Apparently everyone has been having babies while I was gone...

Our traditional pic with Whitney in the middle!

Reunited!

Look at this cutie!

After my really short visit in Saint George, we hopped in the car and headed up north to Spanish Fork. There, I met my cute cousin Elijah for the first time (sadly, I can't find any pictures of us together), and Ray, Hannah, Aidan, Darby, and I all ran the Potter Run (a Harry Potter themed 5k)! I was actually grateful to be dragging Darby along, since it was the first day that I was allowed to exercise after getting my appendix out, and 6 weeks of no exercise really makes you weak! So, it gave me a good excuse to be a little slower. It was also fun to run with a redhead since every time we passed someone (or when they passed us), they would shout "It's a Weasley!".

After we ate, we stopped at Dunford Bakers to pick up some donuts and took them to some friend's house where they made us hot chocolate! The thought of hot chocolate was the only thing that kept Darby going in the end! Luckily Ray was there to run with Aidan and Hannah. I think Aidan ran the entire time!

After our breakfast, we did some relaxing in Spanish Fork, and then we got ready to go take our family pictures in Provo Canyon.

Taking pictures was pretty funny because there were people taking pictures EVERYWHERE. It was all engaged couples or couples with small babies though. Do families with adult children not take family pictures usually? There were also a lot of people wandering about the canyon dressed as zombies.... I guess we were there right before a zombie chase 5k.

And then it was time for me to head back to Houston! So for anyone I didn't get the chance to visit while I was there... I plan to visit you in December!
